Bruce Dooyema - Chairman
Bruce Dooyema has been dedicated to egg farming from an early age, turning a small summer project into what is now Center Fresh Egg, part of The Versova Family of Farms, with operations across multiple U.S. states. His experience in both developed and emerging markets gives him a unique perspective on egg production and food security.
As a husband and father of three daughters, Bruce understands the importance of high-quality, and affordable eggs for families worldwide. Committed to sustainability and community service, he has helped implement crop rotation, water recycling, and soil conservation practices on his farms.
Through the Versova Foundation and his work with the IEF, Bruce provides poultry expertise to communities across the globe, including Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Africa, and Honduras. His work supports educational initiatives that improve food security, including vocational schools and egg distribution programmes for protein deficient communities.
Bruce actively serves on several industry boards, including the World Poultry Foundation, American Egg Board, United Egg Producers, and Iowa Egg Council, where he has been chairman for the past decade. In 2024, he was honoured with the Wergin Good Farm Neighbour Award and inducted into the North Central Poultry Association Hall of Fame for his contributions to animal care, environmental stewardship, and community leadership.
As IEF Chairman, Bruce is passionate about improving global access to eggs, ensuring they remain a sustainable and nutritious food source for communities in need.
