Global Egg Schools: Empowering Farmers, Transforming Communities
Since 2019, the International Egg Foundation has been driving agricultural progress through its Global Egg Schools, offering essential training in egg production. In collaboration with industry pioneer Lohmann Breeders, IEF provides expert-led training that covers critical areas such as layer management, biosecurity, nutrition, egg production systems, and market strategies.
By addressing both technical and practical aspects of egg farming, these programmes empower participants with the skills and knowledge to boost farm productivity, improve sustainability, and enhance egg quality.
The partnership with Lohmann Breeders ensures participants receive world-class insights from leaders in poultry science, enabling farmers to optimise their operations and contribute to food security in their regions.
To extend its impact, IEF launched the Virtual Global Egg Schools, making high-quality training further accessible to farmers in regions such as Kenya, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe. These virtual sessions replicate the robust in-person experience, equipping farmers to share knowledge with their teams and local out-growers. This ripple effect benefits entire communities, fostering stronger local egg industries and supporting economic development.
Looking ahead, IEF is committed to expanding the reach of both its physical and virtual Global Egg Schools. By continuing to partner with Lohmann Breeders and other leaders in the field, IEF ensures that egg farmers worldwide can adapt to evolving challenges, adopt innovative practices, and build more sustainable livelihoods. These efforts contribute to job creation, improved farming practices, and a more resilient global food
